Surfactants and surfaces

In liquid flows, contaminants are difficult to avoid. We found that they have huge impact on the performance of liquid-infused surfaces.  Read article here.

Transfer learning to predict drag

One challenge in fluid mechanics today is the so-called 'roughness-problem'. The problem is to predict turbulent drag given a rough surface without resorting to DNS or towing-tank experiments. We used transfer learning and machine-learning to tackle this problem. See Sangseung's awesome work here!
