Is it possible to bridge molecular-scale processes with macroscopic models to better understand wetting dynamics on hydrophilic surfaces? This intriguing question is addressed in the thesis “Bridging the Molecular and the Continuous Pictures of Wetting Dynamics on Hydrophilic Surfaces.” by Michele Pellegrino. The study includes parameterizing continuous fluid dynamics models, like Phase Field and Volume of Fluid, to enhance their accuracy.
Michele’s main supervisor was Professor Berk Hess. His co-advisor was Shervin Bagheri.
